About Marketing Outpost - Your Client Center
Welcome! The Marketing Outpost on Merrimon Avenue in Asheville, NC as your Client Center. This is where we meet, plan, strategize, organize and train.
While we often meet with our clients at their locations, it is beneficial to have a neutral place, away from the "busyiness" to get a different perspective and to plan without the interruptions. We also have all the workshop and training amenities as well as access to great food and plenty of parking!
Marketing Director / Founder
Mari was born in Seoul Korea and adopted by an American family at the age of 3. Mari was raised in the "south" (living in 7 different states) which is why she has that crazy southern accent. Life led her to Asheville, NC in her early 20s where she started in retail and eventually landed in legal.
Her corporate experience as a Firm Administrator taught her many business lessons in human resources, operations, finance and management. She learned to budget and allocate resources for 70+ employees and 3 locations, working on everything from business renovations to benefits renovations and mergers and acquisitions. She eventually left corporate and took a 6 month sabbatical living in South Africa with family.
Upon return to the USA, Mari worked with a national nonprofit organization based in New York while living in Boston and also living in Asheville. This experience in fundraising, donor management and event planning rounded out the "marketing" experience and solidified her desire to stay in marketing. The constant traveling solidifed her desire to 'stay put' and return to Asheville.
Almost 15 years later and Mari has worked with a multitude of small businesses and organizations, ranging from local to regional, from startup to established in various marketing capacities. As a professional "generalist", Mari has experience in every aspect of marketing - from stuffing envelopes for events to event management (300+ person conference in DC) to training, to website design and eventually designing marketing strategies to refresh, rebrand or revitalize.
In January 2019, Mari realized her dream of opening a "Client Center" focused brick and mortar on Merrimon Avenue. Why? Because she can't stop thinking about marketing and loves to watch businesses succeed.
